Wapello Republican, October 20, 1988

Vera Genevieve Biere, age 81, Quitman, Arkansas, died Saturday, October 15, 1988 at White county Memorial Hospial, Searcy, Arkansas. She was born December 12, 1906 at Cook, Nebraska, the daughter of George and Maude Meyers Snowden. She married Herman Biere August 9, 1942 at Kansas.

Genevieve Biere is survived by one daughter, Geraldine Pierce, Quitman, Arkansas; one son, Rev. Josheph Housh, Nampa, Idaho; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one sister, Florence Teegarden, Brocks, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral service for Genevieve Bieri were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 1988 at the United Methodist Church in Wapello, Iowa. The Rev. George Yetter officiated. Phyllis McCulley provided the organ music. Casket bearers were John Pierce, David Pierce, Fritz Runnells, William Pierce, Denny Meeker and Steve Ueltschy. Flower attendants included Connie Pierce, Kevin Hartman, Phillip Housh, Glenn Housh, Andrew Housh, Steven Housh and Nikki Pierce. Burial followed at the Edwards Cemetery, Oakville, Iowa. Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello, Iowa, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
