Mrs. Minnie (Bowman) Bidwell, 100, of Brownlee Health Care Center in Washington, died Monday, November 2, 1987, at the center.

Services wre held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Rev. George Bishop officiating. Burial was in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington.

Mrs. Bidwell was born in Hayes Center, Nebraska, on September 9, 1887, a daughter of Milton and Mary (Lowe) Bowman. She attended schools in Columbus Junction and graduated from Columbus Junction High School. She was a former employee of the Columbus Safeguard newspaper.

She married John W. Bidwell in Columbus Junction on June 11, 1919. He died on August 4, 1959.

She was a housewife and member of the United Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxillary, and the White Shrine.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mrs. John (Irene) Bidwell of Des Moines; three nieces, including Mrs. Hazel Senft, Cedar Rapids; one nephew; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
