Mrs. Florence Bonney Called By Death

Mrs. Florence A. Walker Bonney, 61, of Hamilton, Iowa, died at 6:15 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 1963, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, after an illness of six weeks.

She was born February 2, 1902, in Oakland Township, the daughter of Daniel and Ruth Bradley Wehmeyer. She had lived most of her life in the Nichols and Conesville community.

She was married November 11, 1920, at Wapello, to Vere M. Walker. Her second marriage was July 16, 1960, at Camdenton, Missouri, to Lester A. Bonney.

She was a member of the Conesville Methodist church, Rebekah lodge at Nichols, and the Marion County Saddle Club.

Surviving are her husband, Lester A. Bonney of Hamilton; one son, Donald E. Walker of Nichols; two daughters, Mrs. Jessie V. James of Burlington, and Mrs. Ruth M. Buser of Conesville; four stepsons, Donald Bonney of Eldon, Larvel Bonney of Maquoketa, Harold Bonney and Gerdes Bonney, both of Lost Nation; two step-daughters, Mrs. Belle Hickman of Knoxville, and Mrs. Donna Jean Tredway of Onslow; five brothers, Walter of Colubus City, Carl of Pequa Lake, Minnesota, August of Iowa City, Herman of Conesville and Henry of Muscatine; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Marie) Shellabarger of Wapello, and Mrs. Nels (Pearl) Johnson of Clifton Hills, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, 25 step-grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, one daughter in infancy, a brother, Merritt, and a sister, Emma Orr.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Ralph J. Wittich funeral home in Muscatine.

Rev. Marvin Ceynar of Nichols officiated. Gary Freers was the organist.

Pallbearers were Walter Barnes, Robert Gregg, Donald Buckman, Lewis Peterson, Raymond Satterthwaite, and George Westaway.

Interment was at Memorial Park.
