Barbara Jean Boline, 55, of Morning Sun, died Saturday Jan. 6, 2007, at Great River Medical Center. The daughter of Monroe and Twyla Hester Casey, she was born Sept. 14, 1951, in Burlington. On Dec. 30, 1972, she married Steve Boline; they later divorced.

She was a graduate of the Winfield-Mt. Union High School. She worked for several years as a CNA at the Morning Sun Care Center and also was a waitress at the Yarmouth Cafe in earlier years. She was a volunteer on the Morning Sun Ambulance and Rescue.

She was of the Protestant Faith.

She enjoyed fishing, playing games with her grandchildren and traveling.

Survivors include her companion, James Whalon of Morning Sun; one daughter, Candi Hawkins of Morning Sun; one son, Chad Boline of Marion, Iowa; three grandchildren; and two brothers, Ronald Hester of Bondurant, Iowa and Charles Hester of North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Morning Sun United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Visitation was Tuesday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun, where the family met with friends in the evening. A general memorial was established.
