Boulton, 75, dies at home

Joseph Boulton, 75, Route 1, Letts, died at his home Friday, October 9, 1987.

Services were held Tuesday, October 13, at 1:30 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Chapel with Rev. Donald Campbell officiating. Donna Belle Hughes was organist. Casket bearers were Greg O-Toole, Mark Finke, Mitch Stuhr, Mike Hall, Rick Boulton, Rodney Wigent, Scott Stuhr and John Bashore. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery.

Mr. Boulton was born September 17, 1912, in rural Columbus Junction, the son of Edward and Amanda Jospehine Schafer Boulton. He married Lola Semeta Selser on June 21, 1929, at Grandview. He was a farmer and a member of the Letts United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one son, Bobby Joe Boulton of River Junction, Michigan; three daughters, Mrs. DeWayne (Doris) Finke of Columbus Junction, Mrs. Ed (Jacky) Stuhr of Moline, and Mrs. Gary (Sharrelle) Larson of Letts; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Emma Walsinger of Winfield and Stella Hall of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his wife on March 18, 1987 and one brother, Frank.
