Edward E. Benson Called By Death

Edward E. Benson, Diagonal, Iowa, passed away October 26, 1963 and funeral services were held October 29, 1963 at Methodist Church in Diagonal. He was the husband of former, Georgia Siverly, who lived with her parents on the farm now occuped by John Schafer and they moved to Diagonal many years ago.

Mrs. Benson has relatives, cousins that lived here and in other towns in Louisa county. She taught school for several years after moving to Diagonal and was married to Mr. Benson in December 1906.

He is survived by his wife Georgia, his daughter Ruth, Mrs. George Vicker and two grandchildren, Jack and Jean; a sister and a brother.

It was a happy occasion for Mr. and Mrs. Benson when they observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1956. Mr. Benson loved his country home and the land he tilled for so many years. He had not been in good health for several years and busied himself with an antique shop. He was a member of the Diagonal Methodist Church.
