MUSCATINE - Bernice Beik, 77, formerly of rural Nichols and Grandview communities, died Wednesday afternoon, March 5, 1997, at Muscatine General Hospital.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello, with the Rev. Darryl Erickson officiating. Burial of the cremains will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
There is no visitation. A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the Muscatine General Hospital Women's Auxiliary.
Mrs. Beik was born Sept. 16, 1919, in Mesa Colo., a daughter of John William and Leona Turner McLaughlin. Her marriage to George Beik took place on Dec. 24, 1937, in Washington, Iowa.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, sewing, and gardening, especially with flowers.
Survivors include two sons, Larry and Carolyn Beik of Nichols; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on April 4, 1984, a daughter, Georgann and a brother, Russell McLaughlin.
