Marion F. Beck, 81, of Friendship Village, Tempe, Ariz., died Friday, June 6 at the Desert Samaritan Hospital in Mesa, Ariz.

Born Jan. 4, 1905, at Morning Sun, she was the daughter of Henry H. and Fannie Veale Beck.

She was a 1923 graduate of Morning Sun High School, a 1928 graduate of the University of Iowa and received a master's degree from the University of Colorado in 1937. After a long teaching career at Normandy School, St. Louis, Mo., she retired in 1967. She was a member of the Morning Sun Prebyterian Church and was affiliated with the St. Louis Prebyterian Church and the community church of Green Valley, Ariz.

Surviving are four sisters, Lavenia Davenport, Washington, D.C., Mildred Beck and Margaret Hays, both of Morning Sun, and Esther L. Beck, Green Valley, Ariz.

A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14 at the Pierce Funeral Home. The Revs. Diane Bishop and Robert Schmidtburger officiated. Pamela Butler was organist. Mary Garland and Geneva Samuels were vocalists.

Interment of the Cremated Remains in the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery will be at a later date.
