Ronald Wayne Beeding, age 60, of Wapello, Iowa, died Friday afternoon, June 11, 2001, at Unity Hospital at Muscatine, Iowa. The son of Clarence and Helen Wheeler Beeding, he was born May 28, 1941 in Port Louisa, Iowa.

Ron was a survivor of polio that he contracted at the age of five. He attended the Port Louisa and Wapello schools. He married Roberta "Tudie" Kemp on October 24, 1959 at Iowa City. He owned and operated River Construction doing heavy equipment construction.

He was of the Methodist faith, a member of the former Masonic Lodge at Letts, a member of the Izaak Walton League, the National Rifle Association, and the LICA. Ron enjoyed his winters in Louisiana along with hunting, fishing, sports, family and especially his grandkids.

Survivors include his wife, Tudie; three daughters, Rondalyn and Chris Weyrick of Wapello, Jeanette Beeding and Larry Yerington of Muscatine, and Joyce and Jim Hayes of Letts; two sons, Jordie and Cheryl Beeding of Wapello and Jason and Amanda Beeding of Wapello; thirteen grandchildren, Kearey Yashack, Daniel Beeding, Chad Davidson, James Hayes, Kayleen Hayes, Latasha Yerington, Jordan Beeding, Kelly Beeding, Bryce Miller, Taylor Beeding, Kodi Hillbride, Auguste Weyrick; and Jaydon Yerington; two great-granddaughters, Keaira Beeding and Savannah Beeding; seven sisters, Alice Hamilton of Oakville, Stella Foster and Beverly Spitznogle, both of Wapello, June Clayton of Letts, and Florene Wixom, Bonnie Oberly, and Anna Moore, all of Wapello; and four brothers, Pete, Bill, Herb and Jerry, all of Oakville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Vivian Foster; two brothers, Omer and Terry; and a grandson, Christopher Yerington.

The funeral for Ronald Beeding will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2001, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello with the Rev. Harlan W. Winter officiating. Kathleen Hagele will be the organist. Burial will follow at the Indian Creek Cemetery, rural Columbus Junction. The casket bearers will include Everett Clester, Keith Grimm, Buck Henderson, Jay Kemp, Lloyd Oberly and Dennis Kennedy. Honoray bearers will be Kearey Yashack, Daniel Beeding, Chad Davidson, James Haves, Kenny Robertson, Rick Wilson, Pat Boyd, Don Keltner, Junior Black and Shelley Yashack.

Friends may call after noon on Thursday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home where the family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

A Memorial Fund has been established.
