Services held for Robert W. Beard

Robert W. Beard, 89, Sperry, died Tuesday, March 10, 1981, at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at the George Gay Funeral Home in Iowa City.

He was born in Johnson County on December 4, 1891, to John and Carrie Beard.

He was a Lutheran.

Survivors include two sons Robert W. and Manley, both in Washington state; five daughters Mrs. Ethel Schwab, Columbus Junction, Mrs. Viola Hughes, Anaheim, California, Mrs. Mildred Boarts, Iowa City, Mrs. Dorothy Busse, Morning Sun, and Mrs. Mary Ferron, Doylestown; two brothers Fred of Iowa City and George Beard, Haywood, California; and a sister Mrs. Carrie Webster, Lafayette, California.
