Mrs. John Campbell Dies Thursday.
Funeral Services Monday at Wapello.

Mrs. John Campbell, 44, was found dead by her husband last Thursday noon at their farm home one and one-half miles east of Newport. Mrs. Campbell, who had been in ill health for some time, was alone in the house at the time of her death and examination by the county coroner and a physician disclosed that she had met death through self inflicted wounds. No inquest was held.

Funeral services were held from the Dudgeon funeral home on Monday with Rev. R. Vernon Pike of the Fairview Methodist church in charge. Hymns for the service were sung by Mrs. W.P. McNeil and Mrs. Corwin Burdine. Flowers were cared for by the Women's Society of Christian Service of the Fairview Methodist Church. Interment was in the Wapello Cemetery.

OBITUARY

Mildred Lucille, daughter of Thomas James and Jessie Smith Callahan was born near Kirkwood, Illinois on October 28, 1900. When she was nine years of age her family moved to a farm near Newport, Iowa, which place continued to be her home until her marriage to John Campbell of Wapello on September 22, 1920. To this union was born one son, Ronald Max, now in the United States Navy. She had been a member of the Fairview Methodist church since girlhood.

Surviving besides her husband and her son are her father, T.J. Callahan of Morning Sun; two brothers, Dale of Wapello and Fred of Morning Sun; and two sisters, Mrs. Earl Devoer and Mrs. R.T. Dotson, both of Wapello; several nieces and nephews.
