Julia A. Bratton was born May 1, 1928. Her name being Trusler. She was married August 4, 1844, to Allen W. Bratton and to this union five sons and one daughter were born. Her husband was called hence eleven years ago last December. The deceased came to Illinois in 1857. A little over a year ago she took sick and never recovered, dying at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, June 25, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Martha McCall. The funeral services were held Thursday, conducted by Rev. W.H. Witter from the M.E. Church. The deceased leaves two sons, Charles and Thomas, and one daughter, Mrs. Martha McCall.

Mrs. Julia C. Bratton who had been living on the Iowa side of the river [Oakville area], died at the residence of her son-in-law, James McCall, Tuesday, June 25, 1901 aged 73 years., 1 month and 21 days. The funeral services were held at the M.E. Church in this city, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. W.H. Witter.
