Clair W. Bratton, 90, of joy, died at 12:15 p.m. yesterday in the Georgetown Manor Nursing Home, Aledo.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Olin Funeral home, Joy, with the Rev. Michael Jones, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Joy, officiating. Burial will be in the Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and until time of service tomorrow.

Mr. Bratton was born Nov. 29, 1888 in Lousa County, Iowa, a son of Charles and Carrie Cabeen Bratton. He received his education in Louisa County (Iowa) schools and as a young man moved to Galesburg, where he was employed in the brick yard.

During World War II, he worked on the Illinois River in the shipyards building line barges during the war. He later returned to Galesburg, where he worked at Admiral, retiring in 1965, when he moved to Joy.

He never married. He was of Protestant Faith.

Survivors include a brother, Max, of Joy. He was preceded in death by four brothers, a sister and a half-brother.
