FORMER LOCAL RESIDENT DIES

Hugh L. Brown, 78, formerly a resident of Morning Sun and for 34 years engaged in the plumbing business in Winfield, died at his home in that town last Friday. He had been in ill health following a stroke 17 months ago.

Hugh L. Brown was born near Morning Sun on July 20, 1866, the son of J.K. and Ella Edwards Brown. In 1902 her married Sarah Trask who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Halis of Baraboo, Wisconsin, and Sgt. Maurice, now serving in France; a daughter, Mrs. Adrene Richards of Winfield; a sister, Mrs. Dora Marshall; and a brother, Bert, of Winfield.

Funeral services were held at the Winfield Methodist church with burial at Elmwood cemetery in Morning Sun
