On September 7, 1882 she was united in marriage to James S. Chilson, at Metamora, Illinois, by Rev. Page. A few days later they came to Iowa and went to housekeeping on a farm south of Marsh. They then moved to their present home where they have lived ever since.

She was a devoted wife and mother and had a host of friends. She will be greatly missed in the home and community.

Passing out of the shadow into a pure light,
Stepping behind the curtain getting a clearer sight.
Passing out of the shadow into eternal day,
Why do we call it dying, this sweet going away?

The funeral service was held in the Marsh church Sunday at two o'clock in carge of the pastor, F.R. Frye. Interment was made in the Winfield cemetery.

Pallbearers were Elbert Hill, Ellis Hill, Ronald Dold, Tom Bice, Walter Cornic, and Will Martin. Mrs. Robert Briggs and Mrs. Elbert Hill sang "In The Garden", "The Old Rugged Cross" and "We are Going Down the Valley."
