The Wapello Republican, Nov. 28, 1991

Rollad O. Barrick, age 95, of Wapello, Iowa, died early Friday morning, November 22, 1991 at the Muscatine Care Center. He was born September 13, 1896 at Roseville, Illinois, the son of Sam and Eva Brent Barrick. He had married Edith Alice Matthews, who preceded him in death on June 18, 1971. He had been a farmer and had owned and operated the Sinclair Tank Truck Service in Wapello. In his later years he operated a small engine repair service. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Wapello and 50 year member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge at Wapello.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Humphrey of Wapello and Inger Gibson of Wayland; four sons, Lester of Wapello, Hoyt of Osage, Sidney of Manchester, and Dalford of Muscatine; seventeeen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Vivian Linder of Morning Sun. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Stanley; an infant daughter; one sister; and a half-brother, John Rensberger.

Fueral service for Rollan Barrick was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 1991 at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Young officiating. Elsie Stephens provided the organ music. The casket bearers were grandsons Myron Humphrey, Gary Humphrey, David Barrick, Bill Barrick, Bob Barrick and Kenneth Gibson. The honorary bearers were grandsons Samuel Barrick, Kevin Gibson, Steven Barrick and Andrew Barrick. The burial followed at the Elmwood Cemetery at Morning Sun.

A Memorial Fund has been established.

The family met with friends Sunday evening at Dudgeon-mcCulley Funeral Home.
