J.E. Walker Dies Here
Body Discovered in Home Sunday

J. Edward Walker, a lifelong resident of the Morning Sun Community, was found dead in his home northwest of town about six o'clock Sunday evening by neighbors who went to investigate when he was not seen around his place.

Junior Coon, who lives close to the Walker home, became uneasy when he failed to notice Mr. Walker about his chores either Saturday or Sunday. Junior called Charles Schneider, another neighbor, to accompany him in investigating Mr. Walker's whereabouts, and the two men found him dead. He was sitting in a chair, fully clothed, apparently having come indoors shortly before his death. Investigation has led to the belief that Mr. Walker died of a heart attack.

Mr. Walker was born October 9, 1861 on the farm where he died. His parents, James Walker and Nancy Donnelson Walker were nativies of Ohio. In the family besides J. Edward Walker there were two brothers, John and William, and six sisters, Mary, Sarah, Emma, Thebe, Caroline, and Martha. Only one sister, Mrs. Caroline Bell of La Cygne, Kansas, survives. Mr. Walker never married.

Funeral services were held at the Pierce funeral home at 2 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon in charge of Rev. R. Vernon Pike of the Morning Sun Methodist church. Burial was in Elmwood cemetery.
