Luella Marie Anliker, 92, formerly of Oakville and more recently of the Bickford Cottage at Burlington, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 15, 2006, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

The daughter of Theo and Emma Rauhaus Winzeler, she was born Sept. 16, 1914, in Oakville. She married Richard Emil Anliker on Nov. 22, 1935, in Peoria, Ill. He preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 2003.

Luella grew up and attended the Maiden Lane School in Treemont, Ill. She was a homemaker and the couple lived in Peoria and Treemont until coming to Oakville in 1945. She was a member of the Oakville Apostolic Christian Church.

She enjoyed baking, playing her harmonic - enjoying it greatly in the last few years, and loved her family times together.

Survivors include a son, James Anliker of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Shirley and Tom Lankford of Burlington, Joyce and Ed Korf of Burlington and Sharon Baird of Oakville; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; and four sisters, Leona, Loretta, Elsie and Mildred.

The funeral service for Luella Anliker was at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Oakville Apostolic Christian Church, conducted by the ministers of the church. Burial followed at the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery, rural Oakville. Visitation was Friday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis, where the family met with friends in the evening. A memorial fund was established for the benefit of the Bickford
Cottage.
