Funeral Rites Held For Estella Christine Ball

Estella Christina Ball was born December 27, 1882 on the Deppy homestead northwest of Wapello and passed away August 29, 1967 at the Restopia Nursing Home at the age of 84 years, 8 months, and 2 days.

She was the daughter of Henry and Hannah Weber Deppy.

On January 31, 1901, she was united in marriage to Alvah K. Ball. To this union four children were born, Merle D. Ball of Wapello, Iowa, Mrs. Clyde (Gladys) Kitchen of Columbus Junction,
Mrs. Clarence (Ruth)French of Washington, Iowa and Glenn F. Ball of Meridian, Mississippi.

Mrs.Ball joined the Methodist Church at the age of 13 years and has been a faithful member ever since. She attended Sunday School and church at the Methodist Church in Columbus Junction until her health failed.

She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Amelia Ball of Morning Sun, Iowa.

She is preceded in death by her husband who passed away in February 1943, her parents, also 6 sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 Friday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. Earl E. Josten officiating.

Mr. Cecil Schlichting was the organist and played selections which had been chosen by Mrs. Ball. They were "When the Roll is Called up Yonder" and "Beyond the Sunset." Mrs. Dr. Kenneth Carrell sang "When They Ring Those Golden Bells for You and Me." She was accompanied by Mr. Schlichting.

Casket bearers were Wayne Hyde, Vernon Story, Warren Ball, Elbert Ball, Roger Campbell and John McCulley.

Flower attendants were Mrs. Wayne Hyde, Mrs. Roger Campbell and Mrs. John McCully.

Burial was at the Columbus City cemetery.
