Gertrude Margaret Anderson, 90, of Wapello, Iowa, formerly of rural Winfield and Grandview, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at the Wapello Nursing & Rehab Center in Wapello.

The daughter of Harry and Margaret Wiese Kammerer, she was born Oct. 15, 1913, at Port Louisa.

She married Herman L. Anderson on Nov. 27, 1935, in Burlington. He proceded her in death on March 28, 1978.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed helping her husband on the farm. She was of the Methodist faith and had been a member of the former Order of Eastern Star No. 413 in Winfield.

She is survived by her brother, Lewis Kammerer of Wapello; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, two brothers, William Kammerer and Carl Peterson; and a sister, Iona Tisor.

The funeral service was Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church in Wapello, with the Rev. Mary N. Pugh officiating, and organ music provided by Betty McChesney. Musical selections were "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Pallbearers were Tom Yakle, Nathan Whitehorn, Kermit K. Peterson, Kermit L. Peterson, Bill Barrick and Don Williams. Burial followed at the Wapello Cemetery.

Open visitation was Saturday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello.

A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the First Presbyterian Church in Wapello.
