Edwin Austin, a lifetine resident of Louisa County, died in Burlington Hospital Dec. 21 at 5:10 a.m. His home was a mile north of Elrick Junction.

He was the son of David and Sarah Reed Austin and was born March 29, 1867. He was married Nov. 27, 1901 to Ella Hopkins of Monmouth, Ill., who survives.

Also verviving are two sons and three daughters; Lloyd Austin of Morning Sun; Harold Austin, Mrs. Maurine Berkhoff and Mrs. Pauline Hayes, all of Wapello; and Mrs. Fern Heckenberg of Burlington.

Also surviving are eitht grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A son and 12 brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 24 at the Dudgeon Funeral Home at 2:00 o'clock. The Rev. Orville Carter of Quincy, Ill., officiated and burial was in Wapello Cemetery.
