Leota D. Bales, 89, of Ft. Meyers, Florida, died Friday, March 19, 1999, in Ft. Meyers. She was born September 2, 1909, in Morning Sun, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel H. and Hannah Swartz Delzell.

She was a lifetime member of the American Legion in Marshalltown, IA and a member of the Church of Ressurection, Ft. Myers.

She was preceded in death by her husband Verle D. Bales, five brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by a son, Michael D. Bales of Houston, TX; a daughter, Judie D. Neeley of Arcadia, FL' a sister Arminta B. Delzell of Ft. Myers; and a brother, Max B. Dezaell of Dallas TX; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.

Memorial contribution may be made to Hope Hospice of Ft. Myers.
