Diana STORY dies in freak accident

Diana STORY, 26, of rural Columbus Junction, died Wednesday, June 20, after being kicked in the chest by a horse.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 3, at the United Methodist Church in Columbus Junction, the Rev. Richard Faris officiating. Donna Belle Hughes was organist.

Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery. Casket bearers were Denny Wagoner, Mike Pugh, Melvin Thomas, William Smith, Kevin Hintermeister and Casey Bonnichsen. Honorary casket bearers were JoJo Novak, Kenny Martin, Jayne Hafner, Barb Sands, Alfreda Murphy and Angie VanAuken. Flower attendants were Kim Bonnichsen, Anita Harsock and Bev Carlson.

She was born June 27, 1956, the daughter of Richard and Wanda LEE-SALEMINK, and graduated from L&M High School in 1974. She married Jeff STORY on October 19, 1975.

Her husband and two children, Shannon Lynn, 6, and Jamey Jeffery, 3, survive Mrs. STORY.

Other survivors include her parents, of Letts, a brother, Dennis, of Elkhorn, Nebraska, and grandparents, Dora SALEMINK of Muscatine and Mr. and Mrs. Ward LEE of Muscatine.
