Virgetta Rose 'Jett' Dawley, age 40, of Grandview, Iowa, and formerly of the Ainsworth area, died Saturday morning, December 9, 2006, at her home. The daughter of Michael and Carole Pfeiffer Bearden, Sr., she was born June 1, 1966 at Pekin, Illinois. She married Wayne Dawley on March 22, 1997 at Olds, Iowa.

Virgetta grew up in Green Valley, Illinois and attended schools there.

She loved her family and all the activities, especially outdoor cookouts and camping.

She attended the Grandview Community Bible Church.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne; her parents, Michael and Carole Bearden, Sr. of Manito, Illinois; six children, Thomas Glennan, Bridget Glennan, and Jarrod Glennan all of Lansing, Michigan, Morgan, Austin, and Alexandrea Dawley all at home; five step-children, Dawn Dawley of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Scott Dawley of Westchester, Iowa, Coraline & Martin Reyes of Washington, Iowa, Clifton & Juanita Dawley of Riverside, Iowa, and Chad Dawley of Washington, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; five sisters, Tamre & Delbert Atterberry of Topeka, Illinois, Marian 'Marty' Jensen of Pekin, Illinois, Stacey Tiller of Green Valley, Illinois, Lisa & David Dosier of Forest City, Illinois, and Dana & Bryan Taylor of Manchester, Iowa; her brother, Michael & Patricia Bearden, Jr. of Pekin, Illinois; her maternal grandmother, Virgetta Ball of Manito, Illinois; her mother-in-law, Betty Dawley of Canton, Minnesota; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, her maternal grandfather, and a nephew.

The funeral ceremony for Virgetta Dawley will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at the Grandview Community Bible Church at Grandview, with Rev. Darryl Erickson officiating. Burial will follow at the Grandview Cemetery. The family will gather with friends after the burial at the Grandview Community Bible Church Fellowship Hall for a lunch and time to visit.

The family will meet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello.

A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of her children.
