Mrs. Jennie Goss HOPKINS Died March 23rd

Jennie GOSS HOPKINS, after an extended illness, departed this life on Thursday, March 23, 1967 in the Burlington hospital at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 6 days. She had spent several years at the Morning Sun Manor rest home.

Mrs. HOPKINS, a daughter of John and Elizabeth GOSS, was born June 17, 1884 in England and came to the United States at the age of three. In 1899 she was united in marriage to Joseph WAINRIGHT. To this union two sons were born. One son, Hartwell, her husband and two brothers preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing one son, Glen WAINRIGHT, of Vancouver, Washington, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. One sister, Susie Wykert of Oakville and several nieces and nephews.

In 1834 she was married to Frank HOPKINS, who also preceded her in death. One Step-daughter, Mrs. Frank Boulton and her family also mourn her departure. Most of her married life was spent in the Columbus Junction area.

Mrs. HOPKINS was a member of the Independent Bible Church of Columbus Junction and maintained an interest in the work of the Lord and the ministreries of the local church though she was unable to attend in her later years.

Memorial Services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home with Pastor W. LaRoy Anderson officiating. Music was by Donna Belle Hughes.

Flower attendants were Mrs. Eugene Dicks, Mrs. Harold Bliven and Mrs. Hollis Thompson.

Casket bearers were: Eugene Dicks, Harold Bliven, Burton Samuels, James Utterback, Walter Meredith and Donald Boulton.

Interment was in the Columbus City Cemetery.
