Mary E. SKIPTON

Funeral services for 90 year old Mary Elizabeth SKIPTON of Columbus City, Iowa were held on Wednesday, June 21, 1995, at 1:30 p.m. at the Columbus City Free Methodist Church, Columbus City. Visitation was held at Columbus City Free Methodist Church from 9-1 p.m. on Wednesday.

Mary died on Sunday, June 18, 1995, at the Washington County Hospital, Washington, Iowa. A general memorial has been established. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery, Columbus City, Iowa.

Mary Elizabeth TURNER was born July 20, 1904, in Columbus Junction to John William and Rhoda Ann WHITACRE-TURNER. Mary married Cecil Vern SKIPTON November 27, 1922, in Muscatine, Iowa. Mary was a member of the Columbus City Free Methodist Church and the Ladies Missionary.

Survivors include: her husband, Cecil, Columbus City. There are three sons, Clarence SKIPTON, Gorin, Missouri; Ernest SKIPTON, Wilton, Iowa; and Cecil SKIPTON, Jr. Tucson, Arizona. There are two daughters, Helen SKIPTON, Muscatine; and Darlene Kent, Columbus City. There are 27 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren, and 29 great-great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, two sons, a daughter, four grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
