Mrs. Edith WALLACE dies

Mrs. Edith Marie WALLACE, 79, of Good Hope, Illinois, died at 11:08 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 1988, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, Illinios.

Born December 6, 1908, in Delta, Iowa, to Lew and Jessie GIFFEN-ABRAMS, she married Dwight WALLACE in Lancaster, Missouri, August 9, 1930.

Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Sally Ann) Jefferson of Macomb; one son, Dr. Lance WALLACE of Charleston, South Carolina; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Mary Mathews, of Sea Girth, New Jersy.

One son Lew Dwight WALLACE, and one brother preceded her in death.

She taught school for three years before her marriage and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hedrick, Iowa. She and her husband had farmed in Grandview, Mt. Union, Columbus Junction, Carmen, Illinois, and Good Hope, Illinois areas where they have lived since 1972.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Abel Cemetery in Hedrick. Rev. Charles Witmire officiated.

Memorials may be made to the Christian Union Chapel Church in Hedrick.
