Frank W. SMOKE a former resident of Columbus City and Fredonia died Sunday evening, September 1, 1963 at the Kent hotel in Muscatine where he had been living recently.
Mr. SMOKE was born October 7, 1882 at Ontario, Canada, son of Samuel and Sarah McClain Smoke. He came to the United States when quite young and became a citizen here. He was aged 80 years, 10 months and 24 days.
For a number of years he was employed at a Muscatine button factory.
He is survived by one brother Elmer Smoke of Columbus Junction and several nieces and nephews.
The body was brought to this city and funeral services were held at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday at the Stacy Funeral home conducted by the Rev. Robert Parris.
Music was by Mrs. B. O. Roundy.
Casket bearers were Harlan Beik, Robert Briggs, John Briggs, John Wince, Roy Seright and Leroy Fuhlman.
Burial at Indian Creek cemetery.
