Gertrude MILDER dies at Hills

Gertrude L. MILDER, 91, of 1710 Prairie Du Chien, Iowa City, died Saturday morning, April 16, at the Atruim Village in Hills, following a brief illness.

The funeral was Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Iowa City and burial was in West Liberty.

The daughter of Edward and Rose HIPPLE-SMITH, she was born July 20, 1891, in Cedar County. she married John H. Milder April 6, 1910, in West Liberty and they farmed in Johnson County for many years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church of Iowa City, the Altar and Rosary Society and the St. Judas Band.

Surviving are nine sons: Paul, Bernard, Gerald and Eugene of Iowa City; Edward of Columbus Junction; Maurice of Davenport; Lawrence of Sumterville, Florida; John of Canon City, Colorado; and Leonard of Coralville.

Also surviving are six daughters: Sister Mary Margaretta FSPA and Gertrude Nicholas, both of Iowa City; Wilma Dietsch and Elizabeth Frantz, both of Hills; Louise Miller of Port Richey, Florida; and Patrick Kasper of Oxford. There are 58 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, on Great-great-grandson, and two sisters, Beatress Dexter of West Liberty and Velma Embre of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, one brother, one sister, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
