STEPHENSON dies at Manor

Mrs. Dora Irene STEPHENSON, 93, a former resident of Denver, Missouri, died Thursday, March 24, 1988, at the Colonial Manor Care Center, where she had made her home for several years.

Services were held Saturday a 2 p.m. at the Christian Church in Denver, Missouri. The Rev. Stephen Elder officiated. Pianist was Faye Wollums. Casket bearers were Edward Peters, Norman STEPHENSON, Anthony Boehm, Paul Rose, Mark Abplanalp, Bill STEPHENSON and Chris Peters. Burial was in the Miller Cemetery at Denver. The Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Sebestian and Josephine GATES-KERNS, she was born February 4, 1895, near Martinsville, Missouri. She was married March 14, 1917 to Karl STEPHENSON at St. Joseph, Missouri. She was a member of the Christian Church at Denver.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Velma) Peters, son-in-law, Kenneth Peters, Columbus Junction; three grandchildren, Ed Peters of Columbus Junction, Norman STEPHENSON and Billie Boehm of Raytown, Missouri; six great-grandchildren, Mike Peters of Point Mugu, California, Chris Peters, Donald and Kelly Zaehringer of Columbus Junction, Bill STEPHENSON and Latricia Dennis of Raytown, Missouri; and one sister, Mrs. Jenny Nichols of Bethany, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband on May 23, 1965; one son, William Curtis STEPHENSON in 1960; three brothers and five sisters.
