Morning Sun resident dies January 9

John TINDALL, 89, of rural Morning Sun, died Saturday, January 9* at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

He was born May 26, 1892 to Robert John and Minnie Bell Maiden TINDALL. He married Mae Lucille MARTIN October 24, 1912. She died in 1971.

He farmed in the Morning Sun community and was a member of the Cairo Evangelical United Brethren Church.

Surviving: two daughters, Evelyn Gipple, rural Columbus Junction, Geneva Crossley, rural Morning Sun; one sister, Mrs. Velma Todd, Mediapolis; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 13 at Spring Run United Methodist Church with the Reverend Brown Garlock officiating. Gladys Davis was vocalist. Verena Buffington was organist.

Pallbearers were John Cutkomp, Neil Grim, Fred Brown, Duane Beenblossom, Harold Boysen, and Darrell Schenk.

Janice Gipple and Teresa Vantiger assisted with the flowers.

Burial was in the Cairo Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home.

*No year of death is given in the obituary. As his birth was 1892, and he passed at the age of 89, I will guess the year to have been 1981. Please forgive this assumption if incorrect.
