Eva Esther Williams, age 94, of Wapello, Iowa, died Friday afternoon, August 4, 2006, at the Wapello Nursing & Rehab Center at Wapello. The daughter of Melville and Irma Kiner Milligan, she was born April 10, 1912 at Clay Center, Kansas. She married John Nelson Williams on May 25, 1929 at Rock Island, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2005.

Her family moved to Iowa when she was seven years old. She attended Wapello schools. She was a homemaker and had worked for a time as a cook for the Wapello schools.

She loved the outdoors, fishing, and her family. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Wapello.

Eva is survived by her daughter Janice & Kenneth Grimm of Wapello; her son Corwin 'Rocky' & Pat Williams of Wapello; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; and two sisters, Lois Singleton and Nadine Paris both of Wapello. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; an infant son; and a brother, Elmer Milligan.

The graveside service for Eva Williams will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at the Wapello Cemetery at Wapello, with Rev. Scott Smith officiating.

Friends may call from noon to 8:00 PM on Monday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello where the family will meet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the Wapello Rescue Unit.
