Feryl Roderick Gipple, 74, rural Columbus Junction, died January 21, 1984 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Services were Tuesday, January 24 at the Spring run United Methodist Church with Rev. Brown Garlock officiating. Interment was in the Columbus City Cemetery.

He was born October 6, 1909 in rural Columbus Junction. Parents were George and Edna Berkshire Gipple. He married Beula Buffington on December 8, 1931 at Cairo. He graduated from Wyman High School and attended Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant.

He was a retired farmer, a member and past lay leader of the Spring Run Church, served on the Wyman School Board, Winfield elevator Board, was a member of Farm Bureau and member of ASCS.

Surviving are his wife of rural Columbus Junction, two sons, Dr. F.D. Gipple of Crawfordsville, and Roger Gipple of Col. Jct., six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one brother Lester Gipple of Col. Jct.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one son Richard Gipple and one granddaughter Coleen Gipple.
