Grandview, Ia., Feb. 20 - Miss Maudye Keever of this place is gaining distinction as one of the best known youthful composers of music in eastern Iowa. One of her recent compositions was dedicated to Battery C of Muscatine and was written upon the return of the artillery organization from the border. The words breathe an inspiring patriotism and give poetic expression of the joy of thanksgiving felt on their return.
The youthful song writer is the nineteen year old daughter Mr. and Mrs. James Keever of near here. Miss Keever graduated from High school in 1912 and for the past three years has been a successful teacher of music in and near Grandview and Wapello. She is also a talented pianist. She has won many honors in musical contests and is a popular local entertainer.
