LOUISA COUNTY YOUTHS INJURED WHEN THROWN FROM SPEEDING AUTO.

ONE IN HOSPITAL

Virgil Weilie Suffers the Fracture of Skull and Broken Arm When He Is Catapulted From Car - Others Receive Painful Injuries

A tire blowout as the automobile in which they were riding was speeding along a country road near Letts last evening, resulted in serious injuries to two of the three Louisa county boys who were passengers in the car. Virgil Weilie, the most seriously injured lies at Hershey hospital with a fractured skull, a broken arm and other painful bruises. Berl Reed, who was driving the car suffered a serious injury to his back. Albert McGill, the least seriously injured, received bruises about his body. Word from the hospital today extended hope of the recovery of the young man who is a patient at that place.

The trio of young men had been in attendance at the West Liberty fair and were proceeding toward home at a fast rate of speed when a tire blew out. Reed, who was driving the car threw on the brakes with such force that the car stopped almost instantly. The halt was so sudden that all three of the occupants of the car were catapulted to the road ahead. Young Weilie was rendered unconscious by the fall. Dr. Eland was summoned to render medical attention. He found Weilie to be in such shape that careful nursing would be required in order that he recover, hence the removal of the injured man to the local hospital.
