MR. AND MRS. SILAS HARDMAN PLEASANTLY SURPRISED.

Fifty-Third Wedding Anniversary of Aged Couple and Birthdays of Descendants Observed.

(Journal's Special Service.)

Grandveiw, Ia., March 29. - The fifty-third wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Silas Hardman, the seventy-sixth anniversary of the former's birth and the anniversary of the birth of a grand-daughter, Mrs. Louis Bohling of Davenport, were fittingly celebrated by the descendants of the aged couple at their home here yesterday. The families of the children of Mr. and Mrs. Hardman had not informed the chief guests of honor of the event and a very pleasant surprise was the result, the day being most enjoyable.

Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Silas Hardman, Mrs. Louis Bohling and daughter, Miss Marguerite Bohling of Davenport; Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Hardman and Mr. and Mrs. William Kohn of Fruitland; Mr. and Mrs. David Woodruff, Mrs. Mollie Hardman, widow of John Hardman, deceased son of the couple, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hardman and Mr. and Mrs. Everett Connor of Grandview.
