ACCIDENT

A very serious accident occurred Wednesday in Port Louisa township near the home of John Foxwell, which might have resulted in death. Paul Beik, the nine-year-old son of Jacob Beik, was coming home from school. His teacher, Miss Ella Foxwell, was driving home and passed the little boy, who, without ther knowledge of his teacher, jumped upon the back of the buggy. This frightened the horse Miss Foxwell was driving and it started to run. The boy was thrown into the wheel and carried for some distance. Fortunately no bones were broken but several severe injuries were received about the head, and the little boy when picked up a few moments later by Miss Neva Darrow, was unconscious and remained so for many hours after having been taken home. He is better at the present time though very much shaken up.
