It looks likely that your great grandmother was married previously to William Biedermann. They were married on October 10, 1906 in Cedar Rapids. In the same cemetery as Mrs. Pestel are Mary Biedermann and Lumir Biedermann (died January 28, 1908). In 1910, Mary is enumerated in the Cedar Rapids, Linn County, Iowa census living with her parents, John and Anna Jenista and brothers, Adolph and Frank. She is listed as having been married for four years and having given birth to two children, none living. 1910 Census: Cedar Rapids Precinct 6, Linn, Iowa; T624f Roll 411; Page: 3A; Enumeration District: 0108; According to her obituary she had been married to Edward Pestel two years at the time of her death (circa 1911).

Hope this helps.
