Linn as well as all counties in Iowa are broken up into Townships, as we all know. But it has occured to me that the Townships were further broken into yet smaller divisions. These divisions were named and had an abbreviation that followed "IND" which I believe means Industry(?) This can be seen on early plat maps. Supposing that they would later be reiterated as a "community". Of note to my research, regarding Clinton Twp., there are two of interest, Lincoln and Kline IND's. My question is, does anyone have any additional information about after who these IND's may have been named? By whom and how were the boundaries set for these IND's? Any info, insight, suggestions appreciated. Thank you. Jarl
