Christian SMITH(PA-1773-1855) and Elizabeth Young(PA-1782-aft 1860census), married in Frederick, VA, 15 Feb 1799. William(VA-1803), his wife, Rachel ?(OH-1812), John(OH-1848), and William's mother, Elizabeth moved from Holmes Co., Oh(1850 census), to Linn Co. after the death of Christian. They are recorded in the 1860 Washington, Linn, IA in 1860(with mother, who dies before the next census), at Center Point Twp. 1870, 1880(William dies before next LOCAL census), and Rachel is on the 1885 Iowa Census. Their son, JACOB SMITH was born in Center Point, Linn, IA in 1858.

I believe my GGG-grandfather ISAAC SMITH(VA-1814-OH-1892-Holmes Co. OH) was the son of Christian and Elizabeth. I have NO proof, other than, Christian is buried in the next grave north of ISAAC and wife SARAH FORTNEY's graves.

Could there be some descendents of this SMITH family still in the Linn area? We would welcome any possible connections!

Thanks, Sandy(Sandra Sue Smith)Parrish
