Sherman C. Thompson Is Dead At Age Of 65

Sherman C. Thompson, 65, died yesterday afternoon at 4:30 at his home 1193 Ninth street, after a lingering illness. The eldest son of Rev. Warren C. and Christiana Thompson, he was born near Cedar Rapids. Practically all his life was spent in Linn county. He was married to Effie Roberts Dec. 16, 1884, and to this union were born four children: Warren Thompson, Mrs. Ida Burgess, Mrs. Ada Stinson and Mrs. Olive Munday, all of Marion. Besides his wife and children, he is survived by his aged mother, Mrs. Christiana Thompson, who is 84 years old of West Eighth avenue, two brothers, Charles and George and One sister Mrs. Minnie Little and twelve grandchildren, all residents of Marion. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 23 p.m. in the charge of the Yocom funeral home,. The Rev. John Watterson will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery.
