Funeral services for W. Paul France, 82, 150 Thompson Dr. S.E., Cedar Rapids, were held at Marion April 9 with the Rev. Kalen Fristad, pastor of the Urbana United Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.
Mr. France died at a Cedar Rapids hospital April 6.
The son of Henry and Bessie Strong France, he was born at Albany, Ind. Jan. 21, 1895. He was married to August Albert at Tipton July 5, 1919. He served with the US army during World War I and had lived in Urbana for 50 years, moving to Cedar Rapids 2 years ago.
He was an agent for the Waterloo, Cedar Falls and Northern railroad at Urbana and Cedar Rapids for more than 40 years, retiring in 1965. He was a member of the Urbana Methodist church, the American Legion and the Izaak Walton league.
He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters, Mrs. Jean Means, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Richard (Carol) Leacox, Fairfield; a son, Noel A. France, Woodstock, N.Y.; 9 grandchildren and a great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a son, Billy and a brother, John.
