Funeral services for Raymond C. Freeman, 82, father of Mrs. Walter Graham, were held at St. Patrick's Catholic church, Cedar Rapids, Aug. 11, with the Rev. Joseph Schneider officiating. Burial was in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
Mr. Freeman died in a Cedar Rapids nursing home, Aug. 9 following a long illness.
Born Nov. 8, 1892, at Shellsburg, he was married to Laura Theresa Crane, June 16, 1919. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church, the American Legion, and was a veteran of World War I.
Mr. Freeman owned and operated Freeman Transfer for several years and was employed by Penick and Ford until his retirement in 1960. He was past president of the American Grain Millers union local 100.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Joseph Ennis, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Walter Graham, Tipton, 2 sons, Thomas, Hugh, Okla.; John, Cedar Rapids; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Hazel Greenwood, Shellsburg; Doris Patten, Cedar Rapids, and a brother, Marshall Freeman, Cedar Rapids.
