Henry John Huerter, 63, Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, May 25 after a brief illness. Born August 16, 1907, in Kelly, Kan., he was married to Josephine Schurmann August 13, 1930, at Seneca, Kan.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Patrick's Catholic church and was an employe of Schwitters Implement store. He had lived in Cedar Rapids since 1958.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Melvin, Cedar Rapids; Eugene, Chicago; and Kenneth, Manhattan, Kan.; five daughters, Mrs. Edward Rahe, Walker; Mrs. Bernard Westbrock, Marion; Mrs. Albin Hlas, and Diane Huerter, both of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. James Thielen, Camp Douglas, Wis.; 13 grandchildren, eight brothers, Joseph and Ambrose Huerter, Greeley, Colo.; Vincent Huerter, Morley; Lawrence, Raymond, Elmer and John Huerter, all of Anamosa, Adrian Huerter, San Antonio, Texas, and a sister, Mrs. Harry Hutfles, Seneca, Kan.

Services were held at St. Patrick's church, Cedar Rapids Friday, May 28, at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Paul J. Maguire. Burial was in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
