Galen Jon Ludvicek, 64, of Swisher, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 25, 2022. Family and friends are welcome to a Celebration of Life on Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Walford Community Center for a time of food and fellowship. Private Burial: Czech National Cemetery. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.

Galen is survived by his wife Kristin and son, Rivers both of Swisher; sister, Terry Lee (Norm) Zahradnik of Cedar Rapids; nephews and nieces, Greg (Christie) Mulherin, Dr. Brenda Mulherin-Stogsdill (Matthew Stogsdill), Thad Miller, Cody Miller, Trevor, Miller, Ashton Schleicher, Cole Miller, Stephanie Miller, Allison Doby; and many other extended family and long-time friends.

Galen was preceded in death by his parents.

Galen was born October 10, 1957 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Leo and Barbara Divishek Ludvicek. He was a graduate of Prairie High School and Kirkwood Community College where he specialized in Law Enforcement. Galen owned and operated Professional Ag Supplies of Iowa since 1988.

Galen proudly serviced the farming communities of Benton, Johnson, Iowa, and Linn counties for over 30 years. Galen took meticulous attention to detail, always trying to make sure that his equipment was nice, and that there was always a professional image to back-up the name Professional Ag Supply. Galen took great pride in his job and servicing customers to the very best of his ability. He made many friendships with customers and people he met and he worked hard to motivate and teach people around him.

At the age of 4, Galen started showing and training horses specifically Registered American Quarter Horses. In his younger years he enjoyed snowmobiling, 4 wheelers, and eventually UTV side-by-sides. In his later years, Galen enjoyed his annual trips to Disney World. His greatest enjoyment in life was watching his son play in two Rock Bands through the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy. He always enjoyed finding the time to relax by fishing on his farm pond.
