Faber William Miller, 53, was born on Aug. 17, 1967, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He passed away peacefully at his home on Aug. 1, 2021, from cancer. Faber graduated from Washington High School in 1986, and worked at Intertrade Steel for 25 years. Prior to that, for six seasons, Faber was a member of the pit crew for Brad Loney's ASA racing team. The No. 33 team traveled the racing circuit from Florida to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and everywhere in between.

Faber loved his Dallas Cowboys and went to many games. In 2015, he attended a pre-season game with the Loneys and went on to the field with a pre-game pass. His home was filled with Cowboys memorabilia and every family Thanksgiving included the Cowboys game. The Chicago Bulls were his favorite NBA team, especially during the Jordan era. He attended many play-off and championship games in Chicago. Spending Super Bowl week in Las Vegas with the Hidder family became an epic tradition for all of them.

Faber followed the "Grateful Dead" and attended at least 30 shows from high school on. He saw his last show, in 2018, at Alpine Valley, Wis., one of his favorite venues. Faber would have appreciated that the date of his death was on Jerry Garcia's birthday.

Faber was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elizabeth and Stanley Roose, and Gladys and Faber Miller; his father, Faber Miller; an uncle, Stanley Roose; aunts, Carol Miller and Susan Marsh; and cousin, Timothy Roose.

Faber is survived by his mother, Mary Roose Miller; his sisters, Marin (Rick) Schmitt, Kirstin Miller and Angela (Darrell) Hobbs; son, Matthew Fuller; nephews, Dylan Miller, Dallas Hobbs and Joseph Schmitt; nieces, Aleena Hobbs and Sarah Schmitt; an aunt, Sandy Roose; uncles, Ewing Miller and Doug Marsh; and many Miller, Marsh and Roose cousins.

Faber's family has been touched by your expressions of kindness, thoughtfulness and sympathy. We would like to thank the cancer team at Hall-Perrine, especially Dr. Nabi and her nurse Molly.

Services: 3 p.m. Aug. 17, at Cedar Memorial Chapel. Family and friends may call from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 16, at Cedar Memorial.
