L. FRANCES MISBACH Williamsburg L. Frances Misbach, 100, of Williamsburg, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021, at Highland Ridge Care Center, Williamsburg. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, with Pastor Kirk Statler officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Williamsburg. Visitation: 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Memorials may be contributed to the Iowa County 4-H/FFA Fair Grounds, Marengo. Frances is survived by her children, Stanley (Kathy) Misbach of Marengo and Janet (Chris) Misbach-Johnson of Fort Myers, Fla.; and her grandson, Michael Misbach of Marengo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wiese; her brothers, Dick, Elroy, and Donald in infancy; a sister, Margaret Spoerry, and a half-brother, Alvin Niswander. L. Frances Niswander was born Sept. 6, 1920, the daughter of William I. and Elizabeth Figg Niswander. She attended the country schools until the 8th grade. Frances was united in marriage to Wiese Lorenz Misbach on Aug. 7, 1949, in Vinton, Iowa. She helped with farming in the Sumner Township area. Frances enjoyed playing bridge and pepper, and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Frances took pride in her roses and was known to have a hen house full of chickens. She loved baking, and always had homemade bread to share. Frances was often referred to as the "lady in purple" fitting as her favorite colors were purple and lavender.
