Death of Mrs. Joseph Scott
Mrs. Myra J. Scott, widow of Joseph Scott, passed away at her home, six and one-half miles southeast of Marion, Tuesday afternoon. She had been ill only a few days. Just a few weeks ago, she had purchased the F.J. Cleveland property, expecting to move to town the coming month. Her husband preceded her in death last April, but eight children survive, John, of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Wm P. Beach of Walker, Mrs. John R. Ives, Mrs. Lee Bigger, Thomas, Jesse, Lester and Gerald, all of whom reside in or near Marion. Mrs. Scott was born in Bradford county, Pennsylvania, in 1852, but was an old settler of this county.
The funeral was held this afternoon at the home, with the Rev. L.C. Smith of Bertram, in charge. Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery.
