Trudi Lynn Kesterson, 49, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at her home. A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021, at First Open Bible Church, 1911 E Avenue NW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52405. A Memorial Service will take place the following week at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the church. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a mask and practice social distancing. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website tribute page for Trudi, under “photos and videos or media,” starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.

Trudi was born on March 21, 1972, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the daughter of James “Jim” and Jean (Beck) Vandivier. She attended Prairie High School and went on to graduate from Mount Mercy College. Trudi was united in marriage to David Kesterson on August 14, 1992. She was the director of Josiah’s Playground for 17 years. Starting in 2018, Trudi began working at Peak-A-Boo Kids daycare with her daughter Riley. She was a member of First Open Bible Church.

Survivors include her husband, Dave Kesterson; children, Andrew Rodgers, Riley (Matt) Peak, Caleb Kesterson, Aalyiah Watkins (Bryce Anders), and Haley Kesterson (Tucker Shepard); granddaughter, Penelope Peak; father, Jim Vandivier; and brother, Shawn Vandivier.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Vandivier.
