David Alan Sherwood, 33, of 611 19th St. SE, a lifetime resident of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday at a local hospital following a long illness.

Born June 14, 1946, at Cedar Rapids, he was employed by Iowa Electric Light and Power Co. for eight years. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and a 1964 graduate of Washington High School.

Surviving are his mother, Hazel L. Sherwood of Cedar Rapids; and his father, Gerald C. Sherwood of San Antonio, Texas.

Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Morgan L. McLeland of Kaneville United Methodist Church, Kanneville, Ill., a cousin of Mr. Sherwood. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 tonight and at the chapel after noon Wednesday. A memorial fund has been established. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
